Together we prepare the LILLI for the regatta, train the key manoeuvres, and then start together. Depending on your experience, you can actively participate: setting and taking down sails, handling sheets, trimming, assisting with manoeuvres, or experiencing the regatta directly from the cockpit.

Regatta experience is not required. Our experienced skippers will guide you in your tasks and ensure that everyone is involved according to their knowledge.

This is what makes this weekend so special: you experience classic yachting not from the dock, but right in the middle of the action.

Classic yachting off the coast of Jávea

The bay of Jávea is one of the most beautiful sailing areas on the Costa Blanca. To the north rises the distinctive Cabo de San Antonio, behind which the impressive cliffs towards Dénia begin.

In summer, the local wind conditions provide exciting races, while the short distance to the harbour makes the regatta a special experience on land as well.

Since 2026, the regatta has been integrated into the Trofeo Clásicos Mare Nostrum and thus into the Spanish competition of classic yachts. This means Jávea sails alongside well-known classic events in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Mahón, and other significant Spanish sailing areas.

The programme

Thursday, 22 July – Welcome on board

From 3 PM, we welcome you on board the LILLI at the Club Náutico de Jávea.

You will settle into your cabin and get to know the yacht, skipper, and the other crew members. Afterwards, there will be a safety briefing and we will discuss the schedule for the upcoming regatta days together.

The evening is free for you to enjoy. An opportunity for a first stroll along the harbour, a shared meal, or simply a relaxed evening on board.

Friday, 23rd July – Training & Regatta Kick-off

After breakfast, it’s time for the first time: cast off.

We will use the day for a joint sailing and manoeuvring training in the bay of Jávea. During this, you will get to know the procedures on the LILLI and we will assign positions within the crew.

We will practice the manoeuvres that will need to work later in the race: setting sails, tacking, gybing, trimming, and communication within the crew.

It’s not about perfection. What matters is that we work together as a team and that everyone knows their role.

In the evening, the social programme of the regatta begins. Here, owners and crews of the participating classic yachts meet – the special atmosphere of a classic regatta can now be felt throughout the harbour.

Saturday, 24th July – Race Day

Today it gets serious.

After a shared breakfast, we prepare the LILLI for the first day of the regatta and set out together with the other classic yachts.

Even the journey to the start is an experience: classic yachts under sail, crews making their final preparations, and the mountains of the Costa Blanca in the background.

Then the starting signal is given.

Now teamwork on board is what counts. Sails are trimmed, manoeuvres prepared, and the best course sought. You will experience firsthand how a large classic sailing yacht is sailed under racing conditions.

After the races, we will return to the harbour together.

In the evening, the regatta community meets again on land. Crews, owners, and sailors celebrate together – sporting competition on the water and Mediterranean lifestyle in the harbour go hand in hand in Jávea.

Sunday, 25th July – Final & Prize Giving

After breakfast, our last day of racing begins.

Once again, the classic yachts set out together. The final races will determine the placements – and in the meantime, our guests have long since become a well-rehearsed crew.

After crossing the finish line, we return to the Club Náutico.

To conclude, the participants gather for the joint prize giving and the traditional closing of the regatta.

After that, it’s time to say goodbye.

The departure of our guests is scheduled for around 5 PM.

You are part of the crew

This offer is explicitly not about being chauffeured on a yacht for three days.

A regatta thrives on teamwork.

Depending on your sailing experience, you will take on tasks on board together with our skippers and the crew. Even participants with little racing experience can join in and will be instructed accordingly.

Those who already have sailing experience can engage more intensively in manoeuvres and sail trimming.

Active participation in sailing is explicitly encouraged – regatta experience is not required.

Regatta life on land

A classic regatta does not end with the finish line.

It is the atmosphere in the harbour that makes events like the Vela Clásica Jávea special. After the races, the classic yachts lie side by side at the dock, crews exchange their experiences of the day, and in the evening, everyone meets again at the club's events.

Jávea itself provides the perfect backdrop: the harbour, beach, restaurants, and bars are just a few steps apart.

This weekend combines competitive sailing with the relaxed lifestyle of the Costa Blanca.
